Cardiovascular Technologist Schools and Colleges

There are two ways to become a cardiovascular techologist, vascular techologist or cardiac sonographer. First, is to find a healthcare or medical facility that provides on-the-job training. While the majority of technologists now complete a formal training program before entering the field, some professionals still get started by simply finding the right position with the right company and then working their way into the career position.

The most common method for becoming a cardiovascular or vascular technologist is to complete a 2-year training program in a junior or community college. The first year of the program will be dedicated to core biology and physical science courses. The second year will provide students with specialized instruction in a variety of career relevant subjects including, but not limited to, invasive or noninvasive cardiovascular and/or vascular technology.

Healthcare or medical Professionals with training in another related allied health field can transition into a cardiovascur or vascular technologist career by completing the second year of specialized instruction as outlined above.

Explore colleges, universities and community colleges offering training programs in cardiovascular and vascular technology.
