Occupational Therapy Schools and Colleges

Occupational therapists usually hold graduate degrees. They typically hold masterís degrees, but doctorate degrees are offered in occupational therapy.

Occupational therapy graduate programs admit applicants with bachelorís degrees in occupational therapy or related fields. Regardless of major, courses in physiology, anatomy, and biology must be completed prior to admission. Additionally, some programs only admit students with applicable work or volunteer experience.

It usually takes 2 years to finish an occupational therapy masterís degree program. Many schools offer dual bachelorís/masterís programs that can be completed in 5 years. Many schools offer part-time programs that can be completed during nights and weekends. Before getting hired, all occupational therapists are required to complete clinical training, typically through internships.
