Occupational Therapy Assistant Salary Information

According to the BLS, the 2006 median annual salary for occupational therapy assistants was $42,060. Earnings typically correspond with the cost of living in a given area. The middle 50 percent earned between $34,130 and $50,230; the lowest 10 percent earned less than $26, 050; and the highest 10 percent earned $58,270.

Occupational therapist assistants also earn more or less depending on their work environment. May 2006 statistics compiled by the BLS show that employees working in an office with physical, occupational and speech therapists and audiologists had an average annual salary of $45,130. Those who worked in nursing home or assisted living facilities made $43,280 per year, on average, while occupational therapy assistants working in hospitals made about $40,000 annually.
