Orientation and Mobility Schools and Colleges

Most orientation & mobility (O&M) specialists hold master’s degrees. Many universities and colleges now offer degree programs in this specialty. Some organizations provide O&M training, but the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals (ACVREP) does not recognize these programs.

ACVREP recently released its standards for O&M training programs. Certified O&M specialists remain so for 5 years before recertification is required. To recertify, these specialists must complete continuing education requirements.

Explore colleges and universities offering degree programs designed to prepare students to become Orientation and Mobility Specialists.
