Certified pathologists employed in entry-level positions earn anywhere from $126,000-150,000 each year. During 2009, entry-level median annual earnings for pathologists exceeded $120,000.

As of 2006, pathologists with 1-2 years of work experience averaged $169,000, while those with 3 or more years of work experience averaged $321,000 a year. Its not untypical for experienced pathologists to earn more than $600,000 a year. Additionally, salaries for pathologists typically increase every year.

Forensic pathologists usually average between $75,000-200,000 annually.
