Physician Assistant Salary Information

As of November 2010, physician assistants nationwide earn anywhere between $72,020 - 93,990 annually.

The following annual salaries correspond to physician assistants with the following years of work experience: 1 year or less, $64,070 - 77,297; 1-4 years, $68,004 - $82,477; 5-9 years, $73,562 - 91,382; 10-19 years, $77,087 - 97,031; and 20 plus years of work experience, $76,365 - 100,779.

Most physician assistants work at doctors’ or other private medical clinics, and they average $84,720 a year. Physician assistants specializing in employment services earn the highest salaries, averaging about $104,780 a year.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported, as of 2009, physician assistants working in Nevada earn the highest salaries nationwide, averaging $103,500 annually. Physician assistants employed in Chattanooga, TN and surrounding areas average $142,220 annually, the highest average salary in any metropolitan region.
