Vocational/Licensed Practical Nurse Schools and Colleges

LPNs and LVNs are required to complete a yearlong accredited training program. Community and vocational colleges typically administer these training programs. Some high schools and hospitals administer LPN and LVN training, which incorporate supervised clinical training with classroom training in pharmacology, biology, and nursing. Information about accredited training programs is available from state nursing boards.

After becoming certified, LPNs or LVNs have the option of taking the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN). This test must be passed to qualify for state licensure.

Below you'll find a directory of schools and colleges offering certificate, diploma and degree programs leading to career as an LVN or LPN.
